Look, I'm posting!

-Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Playing World Of Warcraft has been taking up a lot of time. I also won't be posting from work anymore since I got a new position. It means I'm off the phones most of the time, unless the lines are very busy, but it also means no downtime. I am now an Email Specialist. If you email any of the website of the three companies, I will be one of the two people answering them. I also send out emails when people's cigarettes are on backorder. I'm not sure what this means for my schedule yet, possibly more weekends. But when I work weekends it's only 9-3 anyway, so that's not too bad. And during the week it looks like my schedule will be 8-4:30, which is better because I get home earlier.

Jamie came over and we did the Bellydancing for Fitness Slim Down tape. Tonight we're going to do Basic Dance again before game. We tried the Intermediate tape in the Discover Bellydance series, but it was rather difficult. We think we should do the basic one a few more times before trying that again. But I do like the dancing tapes. My only beef with them is that in 45 minutes, they don't spend enough time going over the actual routine with you. They break down all the steps, although not in order, take you thru the routine once slowly, then once at tempo, and then once again at tempo.

Oh, and there's a new Foamy. For gods' sake people, Read your User Agreement!

I think that is all for now. Plans for the weekend include working tomorrow, and going down home on Sunday, depending on the weather and whether or not Jeff is on call.

The weekend in review

First off - Wooooo! The Steelers won the Super Bowl! It was a pretty exciting game, too. None of the commercials are really sticking out in my mind though, maybe it's just been too long since school and I don't feel the need to memorize them for analyzation anymore. A lot of the people playing World of Warcraft during the game were quite peeved about the Steelers winning. Plus a lot of them kept spelling Steelers wrong (Stealers) and it was really annoying. And I got a little tired of hearing, "The Super Bowl is supposed to be in neutral territory, but look at this crowd, this is obviously a Steelers crowd." Well of course it's a Steelers crowd, Detroit is Jerome Bettis' hometown. Neutral would have been Green Bay, or Tampa, or someplace like that. I wonder when the city for the Super Bowl is picked. I assume it has to be picked before the AFC and NFC Championship games, because there's a lot of planning involved for the host city and stadium, I'm sure. What happens if they picked Pittsburgh and then Pittsburgh went to the Super Bowl? Would they change it at the last minute? Anyone who knows more about sports want to help me out here?

We were supposed to go to Jess and Frosh's but there was a Wind and Blowing Snow advisory, and I really didn't want to get stuck in Port Allegany when I had work the next day, so Jeff and I just stayed home.

Second - We played a lot of World of Warcraft. My main character, Seersha, a human warlock, is now level 18. The spelling of the name I wanted, Saoirse, was taken, so I went with the phonetic spelling instead. I've been working on my professions, Herbalism and Alchemy. I've also been working on fishing and cooking. We used our Lunar Festival invitations (a fun in-game event involving fireworks) to travel to Darnassus, the home of the Night Elves, looking for fish recipes. I also have a Dwarven hunter with a wolf pet and a Tauren Druid named Stampedia.

Third - I don't think there is a third. I guess third would be I finished reading Etheric Anatomy and my thoughts on it should be forthcoming. What is this flower above me, and what is the work of this God? I would know myself, in all my parts - Victor H. Anderson

I am so excited about playing my warlock, Seersha, this evening! I just send her a bunch of stuff and gold from Leanora, the character I had started on Jeff's account. Once I got done selling off all her stuff she was just running between the mailbox and the bank in black bra and underwear. Leanora started to dance but Jeff told me to stop since that might earn more money, and I was trying to be done with the character.

Allison, if you don't get a phone call from me this evening please call me. I will try to remember, I need to find out for sure what time you and Grey are coming out.

Yesterday Jeff bought me my own copy of World Of Warcraft at Electronics Boutique! I am currently installing the updates for the game. We're not networked yet, I just ran the cable modem across the room to my desk for now, but I'll have my own account, and come this weekend, we should be able to all play together. I am so excited!

In other good news, Jamie came over to bellydance today and she brought my birthday present with her. It's a pretty necklace with my birthstone. :-) I also got my birthday present from Jeff's mom and dad, it's the Discover Bellydance box set from Veena and Neena. These are more instructional dance tapes than workout tapes, they teach you a belly dance routine, but they look like fun! I also helped Jamie make up her character for Jeff's Wild West Werewolf game.

So it has been a good day, and I'm actually looking forward to this week at work, since: one, it's the end of the month, things are always slower, and two, I'm only working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then I have Thursday off (for my birthday) Friday off, I work 6 hours Saturday and then I am off on Sunday. Plus I get to see Al and Grey this weekend, if all goes according to plan.

Gamers, thoughts?

For myself, I can't really tell who's from where when I'm playing. Maybe this is just because I spend a lot of time trying to figure out the game, I'm not chatting with a bunch of different people. If I'm talking to someone, it's usually either someone I already know, a fellow guild member, or someone I'm grouped with.

So I can't see why people are jumping all over the Chinese for gold farming, when I can't even tell who is Chinese, American, Swedish, etc. I've always found it interesting talking to people from other countries playing games online at MSN. I especially appreciate their patience with me trying my high school Spanish on them. I just unnerves me to see something so enjoyable, like World of Warcraft, brought low by an ism.

I need to have something besides WoW to write about...

But the only other thing I seem to do lately is work, and I don't want this blog to turn into a constant gripe fest about that. Although I can share interesting customer names, I always enjoy that. I talked to a woman named Luigia today. Just like Mario's brother, but feminine. And she had their accent too. I was expecting her to break out into the Numa Numa song at any moment. And speaking of Numa Numa, I really should link Break.com (formerly Big Boys) to my blog too. Last night Jeff showed me this hilarious parody of the Switch commercials with someone's World of Warcraft characters.

Damn it! Back to WoW again! Not that I don't love it, but I know not everyone who reads my blog plays, so I want to talk about other things that are interesting also.

I'm looking forward to getting email back from Lisa. When I went to her blog last night she had written something like, "how do you catch someone up on 8 years of your life". And then I realized that it actually had been 8 years since high school. And it made me feel a little old. But it some ways it's nice too, to be able to look back and see how far I've come, how different I am, but in some ways still the same. I'm still Wiccan, still an optimist, but I like to think I've become a little more responsible. I've got a Bachelor's Degree, and gotten married. I made a lot of good friends, and gotten rid of a couple false ones. All in all, I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with the last 8 years.

My only real complaint would be that I could be someplace better career-wise. And at the age I am now, It's hard to see my way back to school to get a different direction. My life with Jeff is in Bradford, and if one of us goes back to school it should be him first. I think I'm starting to understand why if you see people in their late 20s in college, it's because they're still there, not because they left and went back. The people you see going back are in their late 30s-early 40s and they can go back because their children are now in school 8 hours a day and they have that time to themselves again. It concerns me a little that me ever getting to go back to school seems so far down the road, but it seems to me that career was never going to be my raison d'etre anyway. My greatest happiness has always come from family, friends, and love. I lack ambition I guess, or maybe the things I'm ambitious about aren't considered worthwhile in today's society, i.e. happiness, spiritual growth, community, and getting a level 60 character in World of Warcraft.

Damn it! Back to World of Warcraft again! Does anyone have the number for Online Gamers Anonymous? I think we need an intervention....

I love the Internet! The Internet and this miracle called blogging have helped an old friend from high school find me. So when I have time to revamp the blog again, I'll be linking her. The Naming of the Computer

First I wanted to thank Paul for his suggestions. I seriously considered Nuitari. But then I was reading Dragons of Spring Dawning and they were talking about Takhisis in her form as the Five-Headed Dragon. This reminded me of another dragon/god from both D&D and also from Sumerian mythology. I think I shall call the new machine Tiamat.

My new computer has arrived...

Huzzah! I will be able to get on World of Warcraft in a couple of weeks and play with everyone. I will be on as Leanora this afternoon on Jeff's account. It's a pretty slow day at work. I'm reading Dragons of Spring Dawning and trying to come up with a name for my computer for when Grey comes out to help me set up our network. I'm thinking of Tatiana, for the woman that the Vampire Strahd, Dark Lord of Barovia, loves, in Ravenloft. But I'm not sure if I like that. I really liked the name for my old computer, Takhisis. Maybe another D&D deity is what I need. Any suggestions? Please comment!

Yummy in my Tummy

Jeff and I just had a great dinner. We grilled chicken dressed with worcestershire sauce and Grillmate chicken seasoning, a red pepper, and toasted bread on the grill with some EVOO. We made chicken and pepper sandwiches and boy were they delicious! Just the kind of fun and tasty meal we should eat in North Carolina.

I'm already jonesing for more World of Warcraft. Grey, it's definitely time we discuss networking options. Now that there's no laptop involved I don't think we need to go wireless. I'm also debating buying a new Dell or just pumping more RAM and a new video card into Takhisis. (My PC) I really think I just want to go with the new Dell, because by the time I pay for the new RAM and the video card I would need, I might as well just throw in a little more and get a new computer, with a flat screen monitor. But we'll see.

World of Warcraft

is a very powerful drug....

Jeff helped me start a character on his account last night, just so I could get a feel for the game before I decide to invest in a new computer, primarily for the purpose of playing it. So I made a human warrior, named Leanora. I woke up at 7:45 this morning and just now managed to pull myself away! What the hell!!?? Now it's not that I've never had a video game do this to me before (Sims - what happened to the daylight?) But I didn't expect to get hooked so quickly, especially on a game I thought I would be bad at. And I'm not great, I died a lot, but eventually someone gave me some help finishing a couple quests. (He was starting a second character and so was about the same level as me) And the controls were more like Diablo 2 than I could have hoped. So I have been having a lot of fun, despite that fact that it's 1:30 in the afternoon, I've had a nutrigrain bar so far to eat today, and frankly, friends, I do smell a little.

Anyway, I'm mainly posting this hoping that Wendy will read it and either send me her name or put my name on her friends list. I am going to get away from the computer to eat and shower, and maybe watch an episode or two of Nip/Tuck. But then I am sure that this new addiction will suck my back in. Hopefully I can pull myself away before Jeff gets home so I can start dinner.

Free Beer!

I won free beer this morning from our local radio station, WESB! Every Wednesday they ask a really easy question. This morning the clue was, this Sunday is the first day of the new year, and the question was "What is the exact number of hairs on Frank Williams' head?" The answer was 2006. So I get to pick up a free 6 pack. I don't know what I'll do with it, since I don't drink beer, probably give it to my girlfriend. But I thought it was cool because I won something.

anyway, I'm at work so I have to go, but I just wanted to share my news about the free beer.

My teeth are falling out of my head!

Not really. But they were in my dream last night, and it was pretty disturbing. I had multiple rows of teeth, and all of them were incredibly loose and wiggly. I looked in a mirror and my mouth and throat looked like a long, gross, fleshy tunnel. In traditional dream analysis, losing teeth generally means that there's something you're holding back, words that need to be spoken. Luckily, on my way to work I figured out that it's probably because I really wanted the opportunity to tear my ex-brother a new asshole tomorrow, and now I won't get to because he's not invited to Christmas Eve. And even though I don't want to have a big nasty scene in front of all the family, I've had a few things to say to that boy for almost a year now. My rage is all pent up, because Mom and Dad didn't want me to get involved. And I'm not willing to drive out to his trailer in Red Brush and say them. Besides, then Yolanda would probably start spreading rumors about the Huffman's psychotic oldest daughter, and that wouldn't look good for Mom or Dad. Although I think the people that knew me in Forest County would find such accusations fairly laughable.

Anyway, I'm at work and we're leaving for West Hickory when I get home tonight, so this will probably be my last post til after the holiday. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Boxing Day, Merry Solstice, Happy Festivus, Merry Mithras Day, and any other holidays I may have inadvertently forgotten.

This is going to be a quicky, readers. I'm on my way down to my parents' today for some holiday merriment. Mom is getting her sibs together for a Christmas gathering, like we used to do Christmas Day at Grandma Eb's. We haven't gotten together with everyone at Christmas since she passed away. One of my uncles and his wife have their own family (she had 3 grown or near grown kids when they got together over 10 years ago, and now they all have kids) and the other aunt and her kids spend the the holiday with her husband's family, because his only sibling passed away and now he's an only child, his folks really need to be with all their family on Christmas day. So it will be really nice to have everyone under one roof in December, even if it's only for a day.

I wanted to say thanks for the presents I've gotten so far. Wendy and Grant, that check was just too much. We'll have to do something really nice for you in return ;) And I love the pairs of earrings that Jamie and Adam got me.

Narnia

This entry will contain Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read the book.

Yesterday Jeff and I went to see the new movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe in Olean. All in all I thought it was a great movie, and a very faithful adaptation of the book. The theater was packed, I was glad we got there 15 minutes early, otherwise we wouldn't have had an aisle seat. As it was we were a little farther back than I usually like to be, but since the other option was 4 rows from the front, I'd rather be closer to the exit. Especially since the audience was primarily kids. They were pretty good during the movie, it's the adults that brought them that got on my nerves. The guy in front of Jeff must have gotten up at least 3 times, and so did this rather large older lady sitting on the inside of our row.

Go to the bathroom before the movie, people, it's not that long.

I felt the scene of Aslan (wonderfully voiced by Liam Neeson) being sacrificed on the Stone Table was well done, it was very sad and the White Witch, played by Tilda Swinton, was just as scary as she should be. There were torches and chanting, the only teeny tiny point that was a little off with me is that the Stone Table was always described as round, and in the movie it was square. And I'm only being picky here because so many other things in the movie were exactly as CS Lewis described them, like the crimson and gold tents that Aslan and the army were staying in.

The only main difference from CS Lewis's original story was instead of focusing first on the Table cracking and Aslan's resurrection, they focused on the battle between Aslan's forces led by Peter and the White Witch's army. Plus the kids seemed more reluctant in the movie than they had in the book to fulfill the prophecy. But I think that made it more realistic for people seeing the story for the first time. The movie I think does well to start of showing England during the World War II, it sets up the Pevensies family relationship very well. I think when the book was originally written it wasn't as necessary to go into detail as to how they ended up at Professor Kirke's house in the first place.

Again, I thought the movie was wonderful, I hope they do more with the series, my eyes were leaking pretty much from the time Aslan knights Peter right up until the end.

Jeff's Christmas presents came, so I am happy :-) I got them wrapped while he was shoveling the cars out. Our Christmas tree is up and we've got all the presents that we've purchased so far wrapped. Jamie came over today and we belly danced then I got a massage, Jeff is getting his massage now.

I'm going to play some more Sims now.

So what do I do when I get all of my sister's voice mails, and Jeff isn't home yet? I blog.

Well, I just got bad news from my mother. My Grandma Dot is in the hospital again. She's had swelling in her left leg, and in addition to everything else she's going through, cancer, chemo treatments, etc., they have decided to close Huffman's Grocery. However, my Grandpa Harry did save the last 3 boxes of macaroni and cheese in the store for me. My grandma's doctor apparently told her he's pretty sure she won't be able to walk again. My grandparents will also be moving out of their home above the store and moving into a handicapped accessible apartment in Tionesta, I think in the River Court. I just always feel like older people moving out of their homes to smaller, easier to live in ones, is an admission of defeat. I feel like they're getting ready to make the long trip over the sea. My Grandma Eb was planning to sell her house and move into Tidioute Towers when she died. And everyone's all torn up about it. And I feel like I'm too far away to help and I hate that. And I asked if I needed to come home and Mom said I didn't.

Okay, I'm making macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. Maybe that will help. Maybe I'll try some applesauce on it. I think that's how Stenny used to eat his and I thought it was gross. But for some strange reason it sounds appealing right now.

I promise a happier blog entry tomorrow or later, I plan to write up my thoughts on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Due to the extremely inclement weather, I will not be going home for Thanksgiving today. I am pretty sad about it, but I really feel it is better than getting stuck someplace in the snow.

Jeff should be coming home today because of low census, but he will be on call the rest of the day. I am watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade on CBS, which is kind of nice because if I was driving home I would have missed most of it. And I love a parade. Especially one I'm not marching in.

I'm also playing some Catan Online. I lost the last game, but it wasn't a drubbing. It came down to development cards, and the winner got to Largest Army the turn before I could have taken it, and he had a victory point.

I might blog more later, for now I need to focus on Winning.

Ah, customer service. It makes me want to jab pointy things into my temples somedays.

Just doing a little window shopping on Amazon. My mom has called me twice since she went to Hershey for sizes on things. I'm starting to get a little excited for Christmas. I saw someone putting out there Christmas lights on my way home, and I actually didn't think, "No! Too early! Put that away!" I just figured they were doing it now since they are calling for snow at the end of the week, the time I know when a lot of people traditionally start their Christmas decorating. I'm looking forward to doing some Christmas shopping in Ellicottville, they have so many funky things there. I always feel like giving people gift certificates is giving up on trying to be original, even though most people are really happy to get a gift certificate, especially for a store they like and shop at a lot. I always feel like it's cheating though, especially when it comes time to wrap presents. Where's the challenge in wrapping a gift certificate? I also used to get books for people a lot, but I know realistically, that many of my friends really don't have time to read anymore. Although all Jeff and I got each other last year was books, and I wouldn't mind that trend continuing.

I'm going to wrap this here so I can pop in the pizza for dinner. We have Mage tonight, I think Vita is trying to wrap this Dark Ages game before the end of the semester. Also I should put on some make-up since I'm going to see my girlfriend

Work makes you free

Um, no it doesn't.... I don't know who said that, but I personally think they were Crazy. I worked from 9 til 3 today, and it was insanely busy up until the last ten minutes too. And damn them, because I had lots of good web browsing to do and emails to read, and that's really hard to do when people want to buy their damn cigarettes.

Oh well. I am looking forward to Jamie and Savannah coming over to Belly Dance today. I am enjoying uninhibited use of the internet at present because Jeff is at work. I just felt like updating because I was recently reminded that people do in fact read my blog.

On Thursday night Jeff and I went to see The Elephant Man at Pitt-Bradford. It was a pretty good show, and Paul was in it. As it's his last show, it may be the last show I see for sometime, unless Dr. Ewert actually picks a script I'm interested in. Sometimes I swear he just gets a pile of the most offbeat, strange, out-there scripts he can, and then scatters them about his office and throws a lawn dart.

That being said, I did really enjoy Elephant Man. The costumes were great, once again Dr. Ewert went with a minimal set, really just a backdrop with a lot of little set pieces that could be quickly changed between scenes. It is a good story, of how John Merrick went from being a sideshow freak to being visited by the creme de la creme of London society at his home in the London Hospital. It brings up a lot of interesting thoughts about the nature of charity and definition of exhibitionism. Was Dr. Treves really trying to help Merrick, or just using him, or was it really any better to be stared at by royalty than at commoners for tuppence?

I may go a second time with Jamie if she goes back again during tomorrow's matinee.

Yesterday, Jeff and I were going to go to Erie so I could take the postal exam for that area. But with the long drive, and the weather reports, and the fact that Jeff would have had over 3 hrs in Erie to kill by himself, we decided just to stay home. We got a Ton of laundry done, and had stir fry for dinner, which was nice.

And in closing today, isn't it nice that sometimes when you are thinking about someone, they are thinking about you too?

The Worst Eat N Park ever

So we arrived back from the 'Burgh safely, if somewhat later than orignally expected.

Now what follows, boys, girls and strange people who come across my blog from afar, is a cautionary tale. A tale of desperation and settling for mediocrity, all in the name of hunger. And damn Sundays. The Goddess didn't rest that day, I don't see why anyone else should.

Now, what the hell is Suzanne babbling about? And why is this blog entry entitled the Worst Eat N Park ever? Well I shall tell you now.

On our way back from Pittsburgh, we realized that by the time we got to Brookville, which is approximately the halfway point of the trip and has lots of restaurants directly off of our route, many would probably be closed as it was Sunday. So we started watching the exits on 28 N, looking for an Eat N Park, a Kings, something like that. So we see an exit with a sign for McDonalds, Arbys and Eat N Park and get off there. First off, when I see sign for a restaurant off an exit, I want it to be at the end of the exit, or at least within sight of it. This was not. It was up a hill and around a bend, almost 2 miles from the actual exit. The restaurant was also located on a side road that ran parallel to the main road, which was nearly impossible to tell in the dark. I went to turn left and discovered that, luckily there was no one coming behind me so I could get back into my own lane and out of the way of oncoming traffic. When we went in, I could tell it was a little run down. Seats that were split open, and the whole place felt a little dark. Maybe I'm comparing it to the Eat N Park in Reno, PA, which has always been nice and clean, with lots of fake, but tasteful, green plants. The waitresses were all dressed in Steelers attire, because it was a Sunday and we were less than 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. Both the hostess and the waitress seemed like they were in a hurry. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli, Jeff and Jamie both had burgers. When our food came out, there was no broccoli on my dinner because they were out. Now normally at a restaurant, as soon as they know they are out of something they will either tell you right when you order, or come back out and let you know, and ask if you want to change your order. This waitress basically came out handed out the plates, said, "We were out of broccoli, is that okay?" I said, Sure, because I was hungry. But I had really been looking forward to the broccoli, so I was disappointed. And I thought the waitress had kind of an attitude. I will say there coffee was all right, Jamie and I both had some to go, a mocha something and I had a vanilla capuccino. But this was the Eat N Park in Natrona Heights. I do not recommend it. At All.

The rest of the drive home was uneventful. Jeff, Jamie and I all got home safe and sound.

Oh and Jamie is my girlfriend now. Nya nya nya nya nah nah. :P

Blogging from the 'Burgh 2

Still in Pittsburgh, we're just waiting for Wendy to get back before we hit the road. Jeff and Grant are looking thru the World of Warcraft Atlas Jeff bought at the Century III mall. I got some new rocks at a store there, they also had wooden chirping frogs.

Now to get packed up so we're ready to go, I think I am also going to grab some leftovers from our big dinner yesterday. I'm hungry again.

Just jotting a brief entry from Pittsburgh, the trip down was fairly uneventful, we got into the city just fine, I'm glad there wasn't that much traffic at midnight.

So far Wendy is making a big turkey, and sweet potatoes, and a green bean casserole. Everything smells great.

On The Road Again

I am SO Glad to be going to Pittsburgh this weekend. It's going to be really great to just get to hang out with our friends for a couple days. It's been a rough week all around, Grandma Dot went back to the hospital and Keely also went to the hospital on Monday. She had a grand mal seizure Monday morning, and they kept her overnight. I hope my parents have been using the energy I'm sending their way, because I definitely feel tapped. Part of me wants to do my belly dance tape, but the rest of me just wants to sit around and watch TV. I think I am going to the pool tomorrow to swim with Jamie though, so that will be fun.

I also got two rolls of film back. I love finishing a roll of film that's been around over a year. I've got pictures from Lacy and Jay's visit alumni weekend, Jamie's fondue party, Keely's birthday party in May, the Renaissance Faire, pictures of our Halloween pumpkins and my Samhain altar, and from the party I had in August at my parents' house. I'm scanning some of them to post here, and to send to those who will want them.

Oh and Savannah just sent me a bunch of pictures from the History Club Halloween party.

I've been watching Jeff play a lot of World of Warcraft this week. I must say, I'm anticipating the laptop getting fixed rather eagerly. The game looks like a lot of fun, and I read an article in Computer Gaming magazine about the expansion for the game that is coming out. I think the Blood elves would be a very interesting race to play, but they will be Horde, and it seems like most of the people I know who play, Wendy, Grant, Jeff, Vita, all play Alliance characters. So I think I'd like to play a Night Elf. Probably a Night Elf Druid, but I'd probably start off with an easier, non-spellcasting class to learn the game.

Watching my soaps, getting a backrub, and going to Warren to have dinner with my parents and Jeff's parents on tap for this evening.

Body Massage

I am enjoying this brief time with the Internet thanks to Jamie coming over to give Jeff his massage. Then we might belly dance, or we might just go to campus for Buffy. Things ended on sort of a cliffhanger for my character last week. I lied to the other characters to get them to help me rescue a man from this pocket dimension type place that my Evil Dad, Adonais, asked me to rescue. We were also there to get Adam's character, who is currently a brain in some blue goo. It'll be interesting to see where we go from here, and what crazy things Saoirse, my Witch, can get up to next.

Work today was the suck. We were really busy and I had a headache, but Tylenol got me thru. Then I came home and Jeff and I had a nice time making dinner and watching Food Network. (30 Minute Meals with Rachel Ray) My only probably with watching the Food Network while you eat is whatever they are making, no matter how good what you are eating is, looks better than what you are eating.

I'm going to cut this here tonight. I want to look at Something Positive and PvP as well.

It's been a busy week

Since it's been almost two weeks between posts, I thought I should grab the Internet for a minute while Jeff is taking his pre-WoW shower.

We went to Lebanon last weekend for the Rennaissance Faire. It was a lot of fun. Jeff bought new swords and I got some new bellydance items, a belled anklet and a red hip scarf with little silver coins. I think I might try to put together a belly dancing costume for Halloween. We took some pictures, when I get them developed I will try to scan them and post them here.

I am eagerly anticipating getting my test results from the Post Office sometime in the next week or so. Those jobs are really well paid, even if I could only get part-time to start with, I'd be making the same as I make now. Work less hours for the same amount of money, hey, it's the American dream! In the long term, if I could do that, It might even be possible for me to go back to school sometime, although I'm not sure what I'd want to go for.

I'm still playing a lot of Sims. I'm getting a little bored with it, I'm wondering how much the Makin' Magic expansion costs (I know Superstar was only $9.95, but I'm not sure I can find Makin' Magic outside of a set) and I also wonder if my computer would just curl up and die if I tried to install anymore Sims on it. I suppose I could always Uninstall some of the games I hardly play anymore, like RollerCoaster Tycoon, or Diablo 2. But then again, when we eventually get a network setup, I'd like to have Diablo 2 on my computer still.

Rainy Weekend

I spent most of yesterday playing The Sims. I also went out to Wal-Mart, got some groceries and got the oil changed in the Neon. The TLE guys at Wal-Mart confirmed what Brandon Cercone told me over two months ago, the Neon needs new tires. I'm going to try get that done before we drive to Lebanon next weekend. I also did the Basic Moves Belly Dance tape on my own, and then Savannah and Jamie came over and we did Slim Down. I picked up Jeff from work and we grilled chicken and had salad.

Jamie and Savannah invited me to their Fondue party today, so I am looking forward to that. I am also still trying to decide if I can go to the event in Warren tomorrow, Michelle hasn't emailed me back, and I feel weird about going to meet new people by myself. Would anyone else be interested in going to a Libation to Poseidon in Betts Park tomorrow at 1 PM?

Postal Exam and Demons going Postal on me!

Today Jeff and I drove to Brookville so I could take the post office entrance exam. All in all it was pretty easy, we got there in plenty of time. We had a good lunch on the way down at the Long John Silvers/A&W in DuBois and a good dinner on the way home at Bavarian Hills (the golf course) in St Marys with Jeff's parents.

We came straight to campus when we got back so we could play Buffy. Paul handed out note cards with a few key changes to certain people's characters, and away we went. I tried to make Savannah's character, the half-demon Failin, prettier with a spell but I forced her into her demon form instead. Then I used the spell on myself later, to great effect, and she thought I had just failed on her and done great on myself to embarrass and upset her. I tried apologize, and she called me some names, a drink was thrown, and I was nearly eviscerated. In the aftermath of this, the Slayer, played by Jamie, and Savannah's character are on a plane to CHINA, where the Slayer is orignally from. Tom (played by Adam) and Llyse (played by Harriet) took me to the ER where I got stitched up. I think the Watchers are going to start watching Twilight, WV a little more closely after this. I think they might be most concerned right now because the Slayer, Palti Chan, has gone AWOL with a half-demon in tow. Great role-playing and reacting to everything by all, especially Savannah and Harriet, our newest dice-rollers. This episode I also tried to help Llyse with her telekinesis abilities a bit, advising her to practice on pillows and things that couldn't break or hurt anything until she became more comfortable.

Now I am going to bed, as I have to work tomorrow.

Comics and Movies

So I have been having fun with the Internet this morning, and I've been thinking a lot about comic books and the movies based on them lately. Now this might partially be because of Jay and Jeff's conversations this weekend. Or because I read something called Marvel 1602 that Paul loaned to us.

This morning I followed a link from Jamie's IM profile to Superman is a Dick, a site which Paul has shown us a couple times during games. It's pretty funny. It has a section called Suffering Sappho! which shows Wonder Woman caught in all kinds of strange and suggestive situations. From there, I began thinking about the new Wonder Woman movie that's due out in 2007 that Paul was talking about, because his Lord and Master, Joss Whedon, is directing and writing it. The IMDb page for the movie mentions several actresses rumored to be in the running for the lead role in this movie, including Charisma Carpenter, Kim Basinger, Lucy Lawless, Salma Hayek, Michelle Rodriguez, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sandra Bullock, Nadia Bjorlin, Mischa Barton, etc.

I don't think I'd like to see any of these women play Wonder Woman in the movie, depsite my love of Charisma Carpenter, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Sandra Bullock. Charisma Carpenter hasn't been in enough non-Joss Whedon projects to carry a major movie. Sarah is tiny, and Wonder Woman is an Amazon. Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses, but I don't think of her as an action heroine. And I don't think she has the body for the costume. I kind of like Salma Hayek for the role, but I hear her accent in my head, and that's not what Wonder Woman sounds like to me.

One of my fondest childhood memories is watching Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter on TV, when I still lived in the trailer with my parents. Heck, I think Lynda Carter needs to have a cameo in the new movie. If she wasn't over 50, I'd say she should play Wonder Woman again. But as I said, the TV show made a big impression on me when I was little. I was even Wonder Woman for Halloween when I was about 4 or 5. So I feel somewhat qualified to make a few suggestions for the new Amazing Amazon. Here are a list of women that I think might be good choices for the new Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.

Jennifer Connelly - To me, she looks like a young Lynda Carter. She's incredibly beautiful, and I loved her in The Rocketeer, Dark City, and of course, Labyrinth.

Kate Beckinsale - (this suggestion came from Jeff) - She has the action movie experience, with Van Helsing and Underworld under her belt. I can picture her in the costume, and she can also be funny, like in Serendipity

I like links.

Carrie-Anne Moss - Trinity from The Matrix. Again, here's an actress with action movie experience, and matches the blue-eyed, dark-haired mold of Lynda Carter. She's not a tiny woman, almost 5'9", which is also nearly Lynda Carter's height, and, like Kate Beckinsale, she looks great in boots with a big heel.

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos - The only non-brunette on my list, but as a model and from being in X-Men and X2, she's used to having to change her appearance a bit for a role. She's statuesque, I can picture her as a Amazon princess. I liked her supporting role in The Punisher.

Blog Spam?

Apparently, I'm getting blog-spammed. I'm not sure what that's about, but I'm going to mess around with Blogger to see if I can block it somehow. And it's not like I think just a bunch of random people "found" my blog either, They're using a generic form-like comments post with links in it.

Lacy and Jay came to visit us in Bradford this weekend, and we had fun. Alumni weekend was kind of a bummer though, we hardly saw anyone we knew. But I guess that's what Kim's wedding in November will be for. We're going to Lebanon in two weeks to go to the Renaissance Faire, and so Jeff can buy more swords.


Jeff is getting a new PC, and we are pretty sure we are getting the laptop fixed, so we'll both have "new" toys soon. Jeff is getting a Dell. Some tea found its way into the laptop (Soth) and fried the motherboard. Until then, we have the cable modem hooked up to Takhisis, my computer. So, Grey if you read this, we found a different way of solving the not enough RAM in the laptop problem! :-)

That's all for today. Jeff's home from work again, he's on call though, so I'm not going in. Keeping my voice has been a losing battle at work for the past week or so, and my throat is all flemmy this morning.

It has been a long time

I am posting mainly to avoid being accused of not posting for a whole month. It's been an exciting month, our friends at Pitt-Bradford are all back. Jamie and Savannah have been coming over to Belly Dance with me twice a week. I'm role-playing 3 times a week, Mage Dark Ages on Monday, Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Wednesdays and Fridays Jeff is running a 2nd Edition D&D game.

Work is going pretty well, but I'm still I'm going to take the Post Office exam in Brookville next week. I'm pretty excited about that, Getting in the post office would mean a lot more money for me. They make enough I could even work part-time and maybe go back to school at some point. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

In Wiccan news, I went to the Second Harvest (or Mabon, or Fall Equinox) with Michelle, Jamie and Savannah last Wednesday. We had a lot of fun, I have missed going out there for the rituals. I really I hope at some point I can get down to Warren. There is a Hellenic Reconstructionist group that has rituals all the time down there. I've been on their email list for at least a year, and I've never made it to one yet.

I'm getting back into Evolutionary Witchcraft by T. Thorn Coyle again. I am working on making a wand. Wands have always seems kind of... I don't know, too fanciful for me. But I am giving it my best. Maybe through the exercises I will understand why people spend a lot of money on that particular ritual tool.

Anyway, Jeff and I are going to dinner with his family this evening in Smethport.

I hate losing

I am currently getting whooped on Catan Online. It makes me sad. I will have to play again and try to not suck. I'm watching Angel on TNT. Season 5 was messed up. Angel's all crazy and dreaming that Spike saved the world and no one needs him anymore.

After Angel, or after I win a game of Catan Online, I am going to do my Bellydance tape. I wonder when my new tape will come. :-) I think I'm getting pretty good at the Basic Moves tape, so I ordered Slim Down.

Michelle is coming over on Friday :-) and sometime Jamie is going to come over to Belly Dance with me.

For Fitness!

I finally bought the video from Pyramid Collection that I've had my eye on for a long time. It is a good workout, and a lot of fun. I like the Middle Eastern music, and the instructors aren't the incredibly fake and perky types. "C'mon, you can do it! 4 more... 3 more..." I plan to do that again this morning after finishing this game of Catan Online.

I was going to write more, but that's really all I feel like writing just now. Perhaps I will add more later.

Quickly, before the Internet realizes it's working

Just thought I'd throw up a quick update. We got cable internet, but we've been having signal problems. There's a guy scheduled to come out Wednesday morning to look at it, but I noticed 4 lights on the modem and ran back to check my email and all.

I am getting very anxious for all our friends to get back into town. I am especially missing our boy, Adam. I am also eagerly anticipating role-playing again.

Not too much else to mention here. Work is going well, and we are getting very comfortable in the new apartment. We finished painting the bathroom this weekend. It's very cool, Jeff's mom helped me make stencils using contact paper so we have crescent moons and zodiac signs as a border.

I appreciate the emails that I received about Grandma McLaughlin passing away. It was nice to see all the family together. I hadn't realized Grandma McLaughlin had over 70 great-grandchildren and over 30 great-great grandchildren.

I have finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for the second time. I think I will wait to publish my thoughts until everyone has definitely had a chance to finish it, so there aren't spoilers.

In the meantime, Blogger now allows us to post pictures, so I thought I'd share at least one.




It is from our wedding reception in November, when I have more recent pictures, like maybe from Molly and Shawn's wedding, if we ever remember to pick them up from Wal-Mart! Doh!

Anyway, I think I'll end this here. I'm trying to win a copy of Intelligent Qube for Mom on Ebay. She said she really really wanted it and would pay me pack if I found her a copy.

Lucille McLaughlin 1909 - 2005

My great-grandmother, Lucille McLaughlin of Tidioute, had a massive stroke early Monday morning. She was taken to the hospital and passed away yesterday morning. She was 96 years old, and was the matriarch of our family. She raised 5 children by herself in a time long before there was WIC, or welfare or any of the programs we have now for helping single mothers. She had all of her wits about her, if not her hearing, right up until she went to bed Sunday night.

I'm having a hard time being sad, because I know she had such a full, long life, and moved onto the next life, peacefully, while she slept. I actually dreamt about her Sunday night. My Grandma Eb came to pick her up from this fair the whole family was at, and I wanted to go home with them, but Gram told me I couldn't go yet, I had to stay. So I know Grandma McLaughlin is happy, she is with Grandma Eb, and all of her other friends and relatives that have already sailed across the sea to the Summerlands. It's just amazing to see the number of lives she affected, there are cousins and many of her other great, and great-great grandchildren coming from all over the country to be at the funeral on Monday. I'll be going down home Sunday after work for the viewing and will be back Monday after the funeral.


So I am glad to have things to look forward to, like the move next weekend, the party in August, and...

Harry Potter Paranoia - And Happy Birthday Jess!

I've gotten this odd worry today that somehow my copy of HPB will not arrive on Saturday as Amazon has promised. Maybe this is from the dozens of people I talk to every day asking where their cigarettes are, but still I have this fear that I won't get mine Saturday and everyone else will and then I'll be lost and Paul will know who the Half Blood Prince is before me.

Also today is Jessica Clark nie Mealy's birthday. She is now 25. That's 175 in basset hound years. ;-)

The Search has Ended!

We signed the lease Friday for a new apartment here in Bradford. It's at 31 Edwards St, and we're so close to the hospital Jeff can walk to work. We'll be moving in July 23-24.
I am so excited!

Only 6 more days til Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince arrives on my doorstep. I just was thinking this morning I feel kind of bad for the mailman on that day. A lot of people must of pre-ordered. That would be nearly as heavy as carrying the big department store Christmas catalogs. Speaking of catalogs, I got a cool one the other day called Mystic Trader. I've also been playing a LOT of Catan Online, and I must say I'm getting pretty good. I won 3 of the 5 games I played against live players yesterday, and also won a game against computer players.

They took the dogs to Slobberfest, a big basset lovers day near Erie, and one of the local news stations showed a nice head shot of Quincy. I bet Amelia is WILD with jealousy. After all, she is the princess!

We had a nice drive back up from Lacy's parents last night, and stopped in St. Marys for dinner with Jeff's folks. Today the new upstairs neighbors are working on the hallway. Putting trim along the floor, etc. This results in a lot of hammering and pounding, so I escaped for about 2 hours to go eat lunch and shop. I went to Wal Mart and the Hallmark store. At Walmart I bought new capris and a new purse. At the Hallmark store I bought some Yankee Candle votives. One is called Meadow Mist, the other is Storm Watch. Both are clean, outside smells. I'm currently burning Meadow Mist, and listening to Evanenscence at a high volume to block out the aforementioned pounding and hammering.

The Search Continues...

Still no luck on the apartment hunting. The two bedroom house was tiny for what they were asking for it, and it didn't even include a stove and fridge. Jeff also didn't like the parking situation. I'm trying to get us an appointment to see a 2 bedroom on Edwards St, which is just off of West Washington, near Dexters Auto and fairly near the hospital. The building is pretty big, and it looks like it has off street parking. We'll see.

Work is going pretty well. We're going to play volleyball at our meeting this week, barring inclement weather.

The weather is pretty inclement right now, and being on the computer during a storm always makes me nervous so I'll end this here.

Jeff comes home!!!!

Jeff is coming home today!! He could be arriving ANY SECOND NOW!!! I am so excited!
I don't want to start any projects or anything I may have to stop the second he walks in the door. I can't believe how much I have missed him. well, I guess I can. Maybe I thought I was more independent than that, but I was wrong. And that's fine. Cuz Jeff is coming home!!!

Work was cool today. Because I have one of the lowest talk times on our team, Brian, my Team Leader, had someone on our team who has a high talk time sit with me to see how I do it. So apparently I am doing something very well. I wish I could sit with someone, maybe Ken, to see how to get more autoships and sell more Kentuckys Best. We have an incentive going on, and every carton of Kentucky's Best you sell gets you 15 points. There are lots of other ways to gain points. I really would like to win the first prize, which is a DVD recorder.

I am working the next 3 days, so I will be off Tuesday with Jeff. He's off tomorrow but then back to work Sunday and Monday. Then I am off next Sunday.

I had fun shopping with Allison in Erie on Tuesday, and seeing Jamie on Monday. It was really great to meet Matt Granger, Grey's boss, who Al talks about all the time. He has very cool swords decorating his office wall. How can you not like a guy like that?

I also got to visit with Michelle last night which was cool. Sorry we didn't get a chance to play with the Tarot cards, Michelle. Jeff is working next Thursday til 8:30, and I'll be home about 5 if you wanted to come over for a bit. It will be just a day past the full moon, we could maybe even do a little wee Esbat. (No extensive studying or planning will be necessary)

So even though I missed Jeff oodles, especially at night, It was good to see a lot of friends this week. Merry Part and Blessed Be!

I'm a bad blogger

Jamie's discovering her ability to link to my blog has reminded me that I have shamefully not posted in quite some time.

The new job is going okay, I am going to a post office orientation in Erie on Tuesday because they are letting a new batch of people take the test and throwing out the old list. It'd be sweet to work for the post office, they make a lot of money.

Today I was very annoyed with some things. One - I couldn't deposit my paycheck because even though National City's drive thru was open til 5:15 because I don't have any deposit slips. I don't have any deposit slips because I have requested new checks twice and never gotten them. I'm going to close that account Saturday and open up a new one at Northwest. I mean it this time, dammit. It also aggravates me that it's going to be easier to do that than to get National City to change the name on my account. I have to take my marriage license down. What a pain in the ass.

I was also annoyed because I wore my long red button down dress to work (because it's hot and the dress is cool and comfy) and had to wear my coat over it because apparently we're not allowed to wear things without sleeves. Now if you haven't see this dress, it is just sleeveless, not like a tank top or with little spaghetti straps or anything. And that's what I took that rule to mean. My high school had the same one for the dress code. And what really annoyed my is the Team Lead I sit nearest was wearing a big t-shirt and long gym shorts, that were compliant with the "no shorts or skirts with hems more than two inches above the knee" So I was wearing a nice dress, and the Team Lead was wearing what looked like pajamas or gym clothes. Which one of these people looks more appropriate for work? But I'm the one who got told to put a coat on. Rules are dumb.

I've been enjoying Something Positive lately, and also Randy's new strips. I am also envious because Jamie is getting to visit Wendy and Grant and it sounds like they are having lots of fun. Good luck on driving to Philadelpia, Jamie, tell Artie we say "Hi!"

I think that's enough for now. I've started re-reading the Harry Potter books in preparation for July 16th. Which, if you look at Paul's blog, you will know is less than 3,123,600 seconds away. Or if you aren't quite that obsessive -- about 5 weeks and 2 days away!

Memorial Day weekend

Rain sucks. We were going to go out to Rimrock for a picnic with Jess and Frosh today, but it's raining and they are calling for thunderstorms. So we are going over to their house to barbecue, and play some Settlers of Catan. Work is going well, I've been scheduled for 8 Am to 4:30 the last week and next, I hope it continues. It's nice to get out during the daylight.

I bought a new swimsuit and cover-up yesterday at Wal-Mart. Well, Wal-mart thinks the coverup was pajamas, but I thought it looked like a cute cover-up. Tomorrow Jeff and I are driving down to Hickory to spend the night with my folks and go to the farm to see Bummy and Pappap and Allison and Grey.

Jeff bought some squirt guns for our neighbor's two sons yesterday at Wal Mart too. Of course he had to try them out. I have water in my ear now.

Just making some calls to finalize plans for the weekend, then we'll be off to Jess and Frosh's in a bit.

I am wondering if I can get someone to switch me at work today so I can have off Thursday and go see Star Wars with Jeff. This morning I am making brownies for a picnic at work today. They smell goood. And the batter tasted pretty good too.

Jeff and I have been playing Champions of Norrath. He helped me finally beat the game, and then we started a new game, with him playing the Barbarian Warrior and me playing the Dark Elf Shadow Knight. Playing this makes me want to play D&D. I don't even care what edition, I just want to kill some orcs and find +1 daggers and such.


I think that's all, I don't want my brownies to burn!

Back to work today

Yesterday was a really good day. We went to the Lighthouse for brunch and got to spend time with Jan, Dakota and Brandon, our nice neighbors. We also wandered around Big Lots for a while, they have so much interesting stuff. For dinner, we made pasta and we rented The Usual Suspects, which was very good.

Jeff and I also looked at an apartment and got to talk to our landlord. Apparently the neanderthal and his girlfriend next door have been behind on the rent, so Todd (that's our landlord) had been thinking about booting them anyway. If that happens we may just move upstairs to the 2 bedroom there. But the one we looked at next to Tasta Pizza was nice too. It had a big living room and dining room, a nice looking little kitchen, two bedrooms and a laundry room. It's $500 per month including all utilties.

Also, although I know Paul doesn't want to start reading Another web comic, I really think he will appreciate yesterday's PvP, as it mentions his lord and master, Joss Whedon. In fact also anyone who appreciates Star Wars humor should check out this particular strip.

Anyway, I think that's all for now. I still need to shower, go pick up my paycheck, deposit it, and return The Usual Suspects.

Today Jeff and I have an appointment to look at an apartment on E Main St. We may have a second appointment to see one on Osborne Place, which is sort of near campus. I also took the Neon in to be inspected.

Today I start my regular shift at Injun Enterprises, 12:30 to 9 PM. So I slept til 9 today after going to bed at 11. I feel like I've been asleep forever. I had very strange dreams about watching Hagrid fly on a giant broom through a forest towards Hogwarts. So I guess I shouldn't have been too suprised to the the link the the Goblet of Fire teaser trailer on Paul's Blog when I got on the computer this morning.

Yesterday was a really nice day. I went to West Hickory and spent the day with my Mom. She cooked a big dinner for us and for my grandparents and my great-aunt. I helped dust and ran to the store to get different odds and ends for the meal. (applesauce, milk, chicken gravy, etc) And my reward is a nice stuffed chicken breast and broccoli and cauliflower casserole to take as my lunch to work today.

Saturday I went to Bradford's Stinkfest with Jeff's parents. For the non-Bradfordians, Stinkfest is a festival all about a certain local food, the Leek. Leeks are like onions - but not really like ogres. (sorry, also listened to my Shrek 2 soundtrack a lot this weekend) I had pizza with leeks, leek dip, and stuffed mushroom, with leeks. While eating too many leeks can upset your digestion, they are interesting. There was also a good live Country band at the Stinkfest. I enjoyed spending time with Jeff's parents.

Well, I think that's all for now. I'm going to take a bath and read some more of Mirror, Mirror, the Gregory Maguire novel I got last week.

It's Wednesday

And all day long I thought it was Tuesday. So now I am extra glad, because it means only two more days of work before the weekend. Although I am getting settled in at my new job pretty well. It'll be interesting to see what the evening shift is like next week.

No luck in the apartment hunt, the one appointment we've made to see a place so far, the guy didn't show up for. We waited 15 minutes. And now there are no ads in the paper for 2 bedrooms that I haven't called and left a message at at least twice. I figure these people must not want to rent those places very badly, because they never call me back. I think I'll have better luck next week when I can call in the morning during business hours.

Happy Beltane!

Jeff and I are having a lazy day at home so far. I placed an Amazon order, for a Reel Big Fish CD and some World of Darkness Books for Jeff.

We watched Ocean's 12 last night. It was pretty good. I definitely liked the first one better. We also so Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in Olean. I liked it, but then I never finished reading any of the books. Jeff pointed out on the way home that there were times I was the only one laughing out loud in the theater. The best part of the movie though were the trailers - Serenity, and Revenge of the Sith. The Serenity trailer was even more fantastic on the big screen.

Anyway, I think I need to shower before long here, and get some Food. If you saw Hitchhiker's Guide, let me know what you thought.

ALL my books came today

Today I got two romance novels by LaVyrle Spencer, Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler and The White Goddess by Robert Graves. My work with Evolutionary Witchcraft is going really well, I started the work for Chapter 2 yesterday. One of the people on my message board is actually taking lessons from the author. I wish I had enough people around here to get her to come here to teach a class.

2nd day of work was good. I gave Jay Whitaker a ride home. Today I just listened to people on the phone. There is a lot of complaining about orders, and the changes that the company has recently gone through. For example, for awhile they couldn't take credit cards. They just started being able to take Visa and Mastercard again today. Then people would complain because all their information wasn't still on their account, because they didn't keep it once they couldn't make the orders with the credit cards anymore.

Anyway, we're going to campus to go visit our friends before they leave. Still no luck on apartment hunting. I've left a couple messages today but I didn't get to actually speak with anyone. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out.

Searching for apartments

I've made a few calls. (As the neighbors stomp and pound their way out of the building, reminding me yet again why we are looking for a new place. The first two I called about are within line of sight from each other. They are both 2 bedroom apartments located across from School St Elementary. 119 N Center St., and 77 School St. 1 includes a washer/dryer and the other has hook-ups. The only problem I can see with them so far is we were hoping to actually move out of downtown, away from the crazies. But on the upside, we would be near enough by still to visit the neighbors we do like, Jan, Brandon and Dakota.

Also I think today might be Paul Stefko's birthday. I'm not sure, as he's nearly as fond of his birthday as Jeff is his. - And I just found out it was yesterday. Curses. Well, Happy Belated Birthday, Paulie. You're what, 22 now? Congrats!

I take it all back!

This isn't A-Hell-phia. My teammates in RIG threw an actual party for me today, my last day. They got permission from our supervisor to have everyone off the phones between 2 and 2:30, and got pizza and wings and a cake, and they bought me presents. It was so nice! And I was COMPLETELY surprised. I had thought, "It'd be nice if they got me a cake. Even a cupcake. And maybe a card." I was totally not expecting to be surprised. No one ever gave me a surprise party before! It made me so happy. I feel like I am going to really be missed, I felt so special. And not Special Ed for once!

I will really miss a lot of the people here, and even some of the ones I've complained about in the past. I'll miss: Candi, Christina, Christine, Dale, Stacy, Barbie, Beau, Beth, T-Walk, Matt, Margaret, Jodie, Audrey, and if I've forgotten anyone I'm sorry! I hope the people at my new job are as nice.

In good news, I forgot to take the 12 hr painkiller before leaving for work this morning, but my headache hasn't gotten too bad, I only took one dose of Tylenol in the car at 9 this morning, and another around 4 PM, but the second dose wasn't for headache. So my sinusitis is going away. Hooray!

3 days left at A-Hell-phia

I got the job in Salamanca!!! No more hour long commute! No more of Taffy's singing! No more smelly Wes! Huzzah!!

In other news, my grandpa was in the hospital getting surgery and he got through today okay, so he should be home tomorrow. Everyone has given a "Hey, that sounds like fun" for the Outer Banks 2006 plan. I'm going to a concert with Jess and Frosh 4/28, we're going to see Reel Big Fish in Olean at the Reilly Center. This will make 3 concerts that I've been to.

My last day at Adelphia is 4/20, then I start the new job 4/25.

Diet Day.... I don't know anymore

Hello Sunshine! This good weather is going to do wonders for my diet, I can already tell.

I am sad because Jeff is going away from 4/24 - 4/30. He's going to learn how to keep crazy people from hurting him better, so that I am glad of, but I wish he didn't have to go away for a whole week! I'm going to need to get a stuffed animal...

Anyway, working and need to impress a new boss, so that's all for today.

Diet Day 17

I went for a short walk on my morning break, I'm going to try to do it again this afternoon. Boy can I tell I didn't walk last week, my hamstrings are already singing.

Last night I talked to Allison on the phone for two hours, so that was fun. I also did the dishes and watched more Charmed.

I'm working with my exercises from Evolutionary Witchcraft. I especially like the consciousness keys. Basically you pick an activity you do regularly, for example I picked washing my hands, and for that activity, you try to be completely present and in the moment, and not doing it on auto-pilot while thinking about other things. I think this is especially helpful for me, because as most people who would be reading this blog know, I'm walking around in a fog half the time. I'd lose my head if it wasn't so far up my *ss.

Diet Day 16

Well, back to work today. Blah.

We did end up playing Paul's Buffy game last night and it was awesome.

First Saoirse, Lily and Amy found Marek in the Watcher's basement, almost entirely encased in a cocoon, with a ugly little creature attached to his chest, that looked like a strange lobster/beetle hybrid. Then they went to Tom's house and found a tunnel leading from the basement and followed it down, down, down into the same dark cave they had visited before to battle with shadow demons. Tom was cocooned the same as Marek had been, except he was stuck to the ceiling and not the floor. There were hundreds of the strange little creatures, swarming and writhing en masse at the center of the cave.

Three cloaked men were also in the cavern. One was in the center, covered waist high in the cocooning substance that encased Marek and Tom. Violet lightning streamed from him to the cave's ceiling. Lily and Amy entered first, both too shocked by the scene to make any witty comments. First the bugs leapt onto Amy. Lily began stabbing the bugs with the golden kris that Marek had given her. Saoirse used her magic to force the bugs away from the Slayer and her Watcher. Vinnie stood ready to defend Saoirse, depsite having to hold his sword left-handed, due to Theresa's treachery. Then the cavern began to shake, and Tom's chrysalis shattered and he fell from the ceiling. Fissures opened in the cave floor and bugs fell through them.

Throughout the course of the battle, Saoirse killed dozens of bugs by dropping boulders on them. Lily and Amy hacked a path through those remaining to attack the hooded figures. Tom's father, Max Lowe, was there, and spewed forth more bugs than than the White Hats could keep up with. At the sight of this, Vinnie vomited on Saoirse's sandals. The second man was a stranger who attacked Amy, knocking her unconscious. The man being encased in the center of the room was the Slayer's own father! Saoirse tossed a boulder at him to try to stop the spell, or whatever was causing the purple lightning.

The strain of using so much magic made Saoirse's fingernails bleed, and her eyes turned blood red. As she dug deeper to find more strength to help her friends, her ash blonde hair turned fire engine red from root to tip, and then back to its original shade. Tom's father, Max, was killed in the fray, and Lily ended it by stabbing her father with the golden kris. A lilac-colored mist drifted along the cave floor, and the fissures closed, swallowing the remaining bugs.

When the purple glow dissipated, a naked man was left lying face down in the center of the cavern. Tom carried his father's body over there, and turned it over to reveal Saoirse's previously incorporeal father. She dropped to her knees from shock and exertion, and then the credits rolled on Season One.

Happy Bunny Day!

Or, as Jeff put it this morning, Martyr On A Stick Day. I took today off work because Jeff was called off, and I wanted to spend the day with him. We've watched Charmed and Highlander. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a bathroom scale, and new shampoo.

I've been very lazy and haven't showered all day, and since none of the Pitt gang are online to ask, I'll assume not everyone has returned yet, so we can't play Buffy tonight.

Diet Day 13

I'm so hungry... I've got some reduced fat Cheez-its in my desk. I'm thinking about having a handful of those now. Or, I would, if the incoming calls would stop for 30 seconds!!! Arr!!

Okay, I feel better now. This new break schedule they've put us on sucks. It doesn't take into account that in any given week, we MIGHT all be here 1 day of it. Before we could be flexible and work around the incoming calls and each other's breaks. Now it's all buggered up.

The diet's going well. I'm going to weigh myself again on Sunday. I think it will go a lot better once the weather improves and I can go out and walk more.

Well, that's all for now. My 2005 Witches Datebook and my new Chants CD should be coming from Amazon today, so I'll be starting my new studies on Saturday.

Diet Day 7

Yesterday I fell off the diet wagon a bit because Jeff and I went to Erie with Jess and Frosh. The Krispy Kreme light was on as we were leaving Erie, and if you've never had hot, fresh, straight off the conveyor belt Krispy Kremes... you have no frame of reference to judge me for this moment of weakness. Those doughnuts are like mana from the gods.

I also got a new book, Evolutionary Witchcraft. I think once I finish reading it I'm going to do a review for The Cauldron.

Anyway, at work and it's Sunday, so I'll end this here for now. Sunday also means weigh-in day, I really need to get a more reliable scale, I don't trust this one at work entirely.
