Cavemen prefer full figured ladies!
I knew there was a reason I loved those Geico commercials with the cavemen! Check out this article from the Discovery Channel!

On the hunt
I printed up my first resume in about 2 years today. I will send it out with tomorrow's mail. The job is with Northwest Consumer Discount company, which is apparently a subsidiary of Northwest Savings Bank. The job would be at their Bradford branch. It'd be nice to work right in town, plus I bet they have banker's hours, so I'd have off every holiday and weekends too. So keep your fingers crossed for me! I am going to look for some other places to send resumes to.

What happens down in Mexico...
Apparently happens in my dreams. I had a dream shortly before waking up this morning that I was in this little Mexican neighborhood. I was following two men, and we went into this little house. The men ordered two beers and I ordered a tequila. The drink the women in the house prepared for me was strange. It was savory and cold, a brown and frothy. It had tequila in it, and garlic, and lime squeezed into it. Once I started drinking it, I head back out into the crush of people and found one of the men I had been travelling with. He was leaning over a beautiful young woman who looked like Natalie Portman. Maybe it was Natalie Portman. She rejected his advances, but seemed very interested in me. We were planning to go back to my seedy Mexican hotel room when I woke up.
And after I woke up and got around, the first thing I saw on TV was a Tempur-pedic commercial. Jeff and I are seriously discussing getting one once our tax refund comes in. And I just had the thought while writing this that if I have a more comfortable mattress, maybe I wouldn't wake up just when my dreams were getting interesting!

Man V. Wild
Just surfing around the Discovery Channel website and found some video clips of our new favorite show, Man V. Wild. I think you ladies will see why I like the show so much. I was going to link a video clip, but it isn't working, so I just linked the main page for the show on the Discovery Channel website.

Update!
Sorry I haven't posted in over a week folks. I can't blog from work anymore, and we've been so busy at work that I don't even want to type when I get home. I have started a new WoW character, a blood elf hunter on the server Quel'Thelos. We ran out of room on Eldre'Thalas. Blood elves are hot.
A lot of stuff has been happening with other friends, but I figure, if you know them, you've already read their blogs. I do want to pass along some good news. Lisa, a friend of mine from West Forest, just had all of her scans come back telling her she is now completely cancer-free. So congratulations to her and her fiance, who has stood by her and supported her through her treatments over the past year.
I visited Michelle and her family yesterday. They've moved to the Kiwanis Court apartments on Bushnell St in Bradford, but I didn't know which apartment. But it was nice yesterday afternoon when I got home from work, so I went for a walk. I thought I could find her car, and then maybe there would be a mailbox, or a bell marker to tell me where to find her. But it turns out I didn't need to look for that, because as I was walking into the parking lot, Michelle's husband and her little girl, Sophie, were heading out to the store. So I got pointed in the right direction and I got to surprise Michelle. Hopefully we can see more of each other now that she lives within walking distance.
We also started a new D&D campaign. Jeff has had campaign written for an evil party for some time now, so last weekend Adam, Vita and I made up characters. They are both playing necromancers. Adam's character is an androgynous human, kind of like a Final Fantasy character. Vita is playing an orc necromancer. I am playing a half-ogre fighter named Kitta. We are currently staying in the Capital of the Empire, the city of Ankrada. One can find anything in Ankrada, for a price. Ankrada is also home to a great Arena, where my character has enjoyed viewing the gory, bloody violence. Our characters in Jeff's regular Thursday night game also discovered the wonders of the Arena. They signed up for some battles and won some gold, which is always nice. My bard, Tana, did not join in, as bards are not strong combatants.
I think that is enough of a post for now. Tomorrow I am going to Port Allegany to visit Jess, Aaron, and my adorable nephew, Aidan. Merry Part and Blessed Be!

Flying in an airplane
I had strange dreams again last night. In one, Jeff and I were going on a trip with my parents. My parents were flying in a little two man plane, and I had to follow them in my plane. I also had another dream with a plane where I was visiting Grey and Jessika, and one of the rats playing in the grass, then he knocked on a window to be let back inside. We went outside to let him in, and a silver plane flew over head with a red dragon painted on it, with Al's initials as the signature. I think she might have waved from the plane. I got the definite impression she was saying "hello!"
We watched the Riches on Monday and it was great. I highly recommend it. I don't want to say too much about the plot or I'll be giving things away. Eddie Izzard is wonderful, so is Minnie Driver, and I like the young actors playing their 3 children. Watch, on Monday at 10 on FX if you can. Also, you can catch the pilot again at 10 tomorrow.
Getting ready to eat dinner so I will end this here.

Just watched a man eat a Guinea Pig
We're watching Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. It's a very interesting show. Andrew, the host, is visiting Ecuador, where apparently guinea pigs are a delicacy. At the place he visited, he actually got to pick out which of the furry little buggers he wanted to eat, just like you'd pick out your lobster at a nice seafood place. He said it was delicious, but I don't think I could bring myself to eat something that looks like a giant roasted rat, plus is still looking at me. But I must remember that while guinea pig looks disgusting to me, there are Hindus and Buddhists who would look on all the cow I eat with the same level of distate. To each his own. And what I really like about this show is the host adopts an attitude of "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" He tries all the local food, from the local gourmet, to the local street food. He's now going through the jungle with some locals and preparing to lunch on some coconut grubs.
I'm off Monday and Tuesday this week because I have to work Saturday and Sunday both next weekend since the girl who works opposite me is going out of town. So next week I only get Monday off, which Jeff has to work. I am not too happy about this.
Anway, The Riches is starting on FX in about 60 seconds, so later!

I'm no superman
Still loving Scrubs. Maybe this week I can catch the new episode since the kids are on Spring Break and won't be here for D&D. The clip I posted from YouTube is from a whole musical episode I would like to see all of. Things at work are crazy. I won't be blogging from there anymore since our Internet usage is being watched more closely.
Jeff and I are getting over being sick, just a winter cold. I finally broke down and I'm getting a primary care provider so I can actually get an antibiotic when I get sick. I just don't want to have to sit in the ER for 3 hours ever again to get a prescription. I also hate missing things because of being sick, like the All-County Musical my cousin Danielle was in last Saturday in Warren. I was just exhausted and didn't feel like trying to quietly cough and blow my nose through an entire show. My mom and Keely went though and Mom said it was really good.
I started re-reading Mists of Avalon this morning. There was something on the History Channel about Vortigern last night and it got me interested in reading about Arthur again.
I think that's all for now, just wanted to post an update.

Quote from work today
"I like hot dogs as much as the next guy, as long as the next guy isn't Bob." - Miller.
Our supervisor, Bob, eats 4 hot dogs for lunch every day. Each hot dog has a different condiment on it. It's simply amazing. I don't know where he puts them either, he's not a big guy.
Work has been interesting of late. They changed my schedule on me. I'm supposed to have Sundays and Mondays off, but I am probably going to switch to Fridays and Saturdays, so that I can have two days off in a row with Jeff rather than 1 each week.
I think it's time to work some mojo and print up some new resumes.
We went to see Hannibal Rising this evening. I just finished the book this morning, and I thought the movie stayed true to the story of the book, even though some parts were edited out. The woman who plays Lady Murasaki is beautiful, I think she was also in Memoirs of a Geisha. Ah yes, looking at the link I just added, she played Hatsumomo.
I think that will be all for now, it's been a long week and I'm looking forward to two days off with my hubby.

I am the Anti-Cupid
I am linking this article from MSN by Laura Gilbert, which explains some of the very good reasons to hate Valentines Day.
I agree wholeheartedly with this article. I think far too many women let themselves get worked up over this pipe dream of a perfect, romantic Valentine's Day. They end up terribly disappointed and angry, when they usually didn't tell their man what they wanted in the first place. Because they are all supposed to morph into a combination of Fabio, Don Juan and Elvis on February 14th. A guy might have thought he was doing great by bringing home a dozen roses, when his wife or girlfriend wanted to go out to dinner at a nice restaurant, where a box from her favorite jeweler came out with the dessert. Valentine's Day emphasizes all the negative sexual stereotypes in our society. Women are sending the message "If you buy me nice things, nookie is guaranteed!" This lets men think that what women really want is to be taken care of, and that our bodies are their reward. The goal of equality women been working towards for hundreds of years is completely abandoned in a chocolate bon-bon and conversation heart induced sugar high. And if he even gets close to giving her the Valentine's Day she wanted, she will put up him leaving dirty socks on the bathroom floor, not calling when he's going to be late, and generally acting like a stereotypical 1950's husband the rest of the year.
We are not hardwood floors, ladies. Don't let him lay you right once and then walk all over you!
And men are forced to try to be both the caveman who brings home the biggest woolly mammoth (i.e. the most expensive gift) and the sensitive creative modern man who can access his inner goddess and pick the perfect romantic present. I imagine it must be very stressful for them. I know Jeff is rather relieved that I abhor this holiday and want no part of it. And that I really mean it and it's not a trick.
So then we've also added all of this romantic/relationship stress to the normal stress of every day life. For example, this year, Valentine's Day falls on a Wednesday. Sure, let's stick the kids with the baby-sitter on a school night, eat in a crowded restaurant, where we're getting rushed because someone is waiting for our table, drink a bottle of expensive champagne so that we can be hungover, tired, and cranky for work on Thursday. The true goal of the holiday is to make people who are involved in relationships spend as much money as possible.
So do I think romance is bad? I am against love? No, of course not. I love love. I am married to the man I love so much it makes my heart overflow. But I want to make sure he knows that every day, and I want to feel like I am loved and respected every day. And I am loved and respected everyday. Not just on February 14th, because of an old tradition that promotes outdated ways of thinking and that has been commercialized to the point where it makes me nauseated thinking about it.

I love Outland
Where gold falls from the sky like rain drops... I've made 50 gold just doing some quests in Outland the past couple days. Maybe that epic mount isn't as far off as I had thought... I've played in Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, and I've gotten a peek at Terrokar Forest. I was thinking of picking up one of the Worgs in Terrokar Forest as a new pet, but I have noticed that my bear isn't leveling very quickly. It's probably because they don't get quest XP. I think I need to do some grinding to help them level. And grinding is good, because grinding = gold.
Well, that portion of the post really only made sense to anyone who plays World of Warcraft.
Although I am loving my Burning Crusade, I find that the PS2 is singing a siren song to me. It's accompanied by my co-worker Jason, who is playing Dragon Quest VIII. It sounded really fun, and I liked Dragon Warrior VII for the PS One, which was made by the same people. Then I looked up the X-Play review of Dragon Quest VIII and it got a 5 out of 5 from Morgan and Adam, which is rare. So now I think I must get it, although I'm going to have to figure out how to go without sleep to play a new RPG, Warcraft, and work at the same time.
Well I am at work, so that's all you get for now. Merry Part and Blessed Be!

Happy Birthday to me!!
Today is my 27th birthday. It's been a pretty good day despite being at work. I had pizza logs for lunch and Sarah sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Barring a blizzard, I plan to be down in West Hickory tomorrow.
Lots of work to do, so I'll end this here.

Crank and The Covenant
Last night Jeff and I rented some movies and got pizza from the pizza place by Beefeater's. First we watched The Covenant. Jeff had heard good things about it, and I had heard bad, so I wasn't expecting too much. The movie was somewhere between okay and pretty good. If it was a video game and I was on X-Play, I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The plot was simple, but it had some good special effects. I thought at times they could have done more with the plot and saved a little on their effects budget. Seeing two guys blast each other around is only interesting for so long. Basically it was an action movie, with magic. The main character, Caleb, was very likable. They are all rich kids in this little New England town, but despite driving a BMW and having "The Power", Caleb is a pretty responsible guy. He takes care of his family. He's not cocky and arrogant, and he didn't get the girl by throwing money or magic around. He's obviously completely fictional, since he's both rich and powerful and not a complete asshole.
So as "magical" movies go, I liked it much better than The Craft, but less than Practical Magic. I can see an interesting prequel and possibly sequel coming from this movie. There's a lot of back story they hint at regarding the founding of the Covenant which would be interesting for a prequel set in the 1600's. Also at the end of the movie, we are not entirely certain what happened to the villian, which always makes for a good sequel. I hate sequels where we ended the first movie with the villian definitely dead, and they somehow come back. I think it's why I don't care for the Nightmare on Elm Street movies or really any from that genre. Anyway, I digress, onto the second movie.
We also watched Crank, with Jason Statham. This was a great action movie; very fast paced, with both funny scenes and gory moments of violence. Statham's character, Chev Chelios, is hit with a needle full of an obscure and deadly Chinese drug that causes your heart to stop by blocking your adrenal receptors, or something like that. (it's explained better in the movie, I just can't remember the exact details myself) This is retribution for killing a prominent Chinese gang leader, Don Kim, several days before. He goes after the man who shot him up with this stuff, a low level gang flunky named Ricky Verona. Throughout the movie, Chev has to come up with ways to keep his heart pumping or he'll die. He does drugs, picks fights, raids an ER crash cart for ephenephrine, steals cars, and sticks his hand in a waffle iron. I also enjoyed Chev's girlfriend, Eve, played by Amy Smart. You may remember Amy from Road Trip, or as Tasty Coma Wife from Scrubs. She is clueless that her boyfriend is involved in organized crime for most of the movie, and it's really funny when she finds out.

Substituting movie quotes for a real post
Memorable Quotes from PCU (1994)
Katy: What about Naugahyde Windpipe?
Cecilia: Too metal.
Raji: Oedipus and the Mama's Boys.
Cecilia: Too college radio.
Deeje: My Johnson Is 12 Inches Long.
Cecilia: Interesting, but I don't think it's a band name.
Droz: Yes! That's the beauty of college these days, Tommy! You can major in Game Boy if you know how to bullshit.
Droz: Ok, now it's true, the majority of students today are so cravenly PC, they wouldn't know a good time if it was sitting on their face, but there's one thing that will always unite us and them. They're young. They may not realize it yet. They've got the same raging hormones, the same self-destructive desire to get boldly trashed and wildly out of control. Look out that window! That's not a protest! That is cry for help! They're begging us...
[shouts]
Droz: Please have a party! Feed us drinks!
[Continues shouting]
Droz: Get us laid! Aahhhhhh!
Jock #1: [at a party] What's up, babes?
Womynist #1: Pack up your rape culture and take a hike!
Jock #1: [holds up a beer] You want a brewdog?
Womynist #1: We're not interested in your penis!
Womynist #2: Wait, wait, I think he's offering us a beer. [turns to jock, speaks slowly]
Womynist #2: Um... Yes. We, would like, a beer.
Jock #1: Okay! [turns around to get a beer]
Womynist #1: So it's like, if you're nice to them, they *bring* you things?
Womynist #2: Exactly.
I love this movie, and I don't think I own it, and I think that I need to own it. I also love Jeremy Piven, and I think that the face that Smokin' Aces is coming out on my birthday Friday is a present from him to me.
I did not do yoga this morning, as I was up til 11:30 playing my dranei paladin.

Sweat
I am dripping with sweat, but I feel good. I just did my Veena and Neena Slim Down workout for the first time in months. I've done other exercise on and off, like Yoga and Pilates, but I have only done the Slim Down tape once since last spring. I got through all of it without stopping;, I think the belly dance workshop I attended at Pagan Pride Day in Erie this summer really helped. My form is better now, and I'm not flailing about so much.
I plan to start doing my Yoga and Pilates DVDs again soon, but I fell on some ice last week. I'm ok, but I've got a big bruise on my left knee that makes rolling around on the floor a bit uncomfortable. Hopefully I can get up early tomorrow and do workout one of my Louise Solomon DVD, as it's all stuff lying on your back so it won't hurt my knee. I need to work on getting my flexibility back, I'm not looking forward to trying to do this:
